In Hisec and Lowsec, our policy is NRDS (Not Red = Don’t Shoot!). You are permitted to attack war targets, suspects (including those on which you activate available kill rights), criminals, and those who attack you first.
You are not permitted to any commit crimes in empire space (ie. as viewed by CONCORD) except for those sanctioned under the following conditions:
- You may commit suspect, but not criminal, level offenses against any target with a -5 standing as designated by your corp or alliance
- You may commit suspect and/or criminal level offenses against any target with a -10 standing as designated by your corp or alliance
- You may commit an illegal-but-justifiable ‘preemptive strike’ against any target that has an extremely high probability of posing a substantial threat to you or your fleet. For example: if a non-Red player is bumping you in a mining operation, he is more than likely a neutral alt setting up to have his ganker fleet warp to him to attack your mining operation; under such circumstances, the player may be attacked preemptively to destroy or discourage such an attempt.
You are highly encouraged, but not strictly required, to maintain sufficiently high standings with CONCORD at all times such that you are not perma-flashy.
In Nullsec, our policy is NBSI (Not Blue = Shoot It!). You are welcome to attack anyone except alliancemates and allies of the alliance (ie. “Blues”) at any time for any reason. Please refer to your corporation’s policies for additional restrictions or guidelines on rules of engagement or piracy in nullsec.
Whenever we engage in any form of engagement (piracy or otherwise), respect your opponent and celebrate the end of a good fight regardless of the outcome. Whenever you defeat an opponent be sure to praise their efforts. If the opponent is a newbie, please private convo them and give them feedback, and also send them an amount of money greater than the amount lost as a show of good faith. This is an excellent opportunity to win them over our side!
